Rachel McNae PhD

Rachel's research and leadership practice have been recognized across a number of National and International forums.

2016         New Zealand Educational Leadership Society Visiting Scholar Award

2015          New Zealand Educational Leadership Society Meritorious Service Award

2013          New Zealand Women in Leadership Programme

                  Rachel was one of two academic staff nominated by the University of Waikato and awarded a scholarship by NZWIL to attend the New Zealand Women in Leadership Programme in Wellington 24-28 June.

2011          European Foundation for Management and Development Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award in Leadership and Strategy.

Rachel won this international award for her PhD Thesis titled Young women and leadership:  Co-constructing leadership programmes in schools using student voice.

New Zealand Association for Educational Research - Sutton Smith Doctoral Thesis Research Award.  Rachel was nominated for the New Zealand Association for Educational Research Sutton Smith Doctoral Award.

Emerald Publishing Outstanding Special Issue of the Year (2011).

The special edition of the Journal of Educational Administration “Globalization: expanding horizons in women's leadership” was awarded the Emerald Publishing Outstanding special issue. Rachel was an author in the volume.

2010          NZEALS Presidents Research Award

                  Rachel was awarded this research award by the New Zealand Educational Administration and Leadership Society. This award recognizes meritorious research and scholarship in the field of educational management, administration and leadership.
